Ciderboys Announces British Dry and Cherry Jubilee Flavors

CiderboysWisconsin’s Ciderboys craft cidery is treating hard-cider lovers nationwide this spring to not one, but two intriguing new flavors: Ciderboys British Dry and Ciderboys Cherry Jubilee.

Ciderboys British Dry, the cidermaker’s third year-round flavor, is a classic English-style dry cider. Ciderboys Cherry Jubilee is a limited-release seasonal fruitful pairing, available only until supplies run out this summer. Both are available wherever Ciderboys hard ciders are sold.

Dry ciders originated in the United Kingdom, and are the cider world’s counterpart to dry white wine or champagne, according to Julie Birrenkott, Ciderboys’ Marketing Manager. “Ciderboys British Dry’s flavor is bittersweet in the best meaning of the word, with a crisp edge and pleasing apple aromas,” she said. “There are cider lovers who have been asking for a drier, less sweet hard cider, and Ciderboys British Dry, our first new year-round flavor since 2012, fits the bill nicely.” SILVER MEDAL WINNER

Martino said the market for craft ciders in the United States continues to grow rapidly, especially in off-premise retail stores. “We decided to make Ciderboys Cherry Jubilee a one-shot, limited-release offering because we like to keep things fresh for our customers in terms of featuring new fruitful pairings and styles,” he said.

Ciderboys Cider Co. delights hard-cider lovers with unique “fruitful pairings” that blend unexpected fresh fruit flavors with the crisp taste of apple cider. A subsidiary of the Stevens Point Brewery, the Ciderboys Cider Co. makes its carbonated hard ciders with natural fruit and apple juice from fresh Washington State apples. The apple juice is heated to pasteurize it then fermented at cool temperatures in shining stainless steel tanks. Ciderboys is fermented with a hard-cider yeast imported from France, where hard ciders have quenched thirsts since the Middle Ages. The fermentation process is cool and slow, and takes approximately two weeks per batch. Once fermentation is complete, the cider runs through a filtration process that renders a clear, sparkling liquid. No sugar is added to Ciderboys products, which are naturally gluten free.
