Senior Leadership

John J. Taylor, III – Chairman, President, and CEO

John Taylor began working for the company full-time upon graduation from Boston College in 1980. He has worked in all areas of the company including delivery, sales and administration. John became President of the company in 1988. Under his leadership, the company has experienced dramatic growth over the years. John has been an active member of both the national and state beer wholesaler’s associations as well as serving on a number of brewery wholesale advisory boards.

Zack Kavanaugh - Executive Vice President and CFO

Zack Kavanaugh joined the Taylor organization in September 2020.  Zack started his career with a decade in senior management roles in financial services in Boston, San Francisco and London.  Most recently, Zack was the Managing Director and Chief of Staff at a software company in London.

Jay A. Martin – Executive Vice President and COO

Jay Martin began with J.J. Taylor Distributing of Florida as Vice President Operations in 1997. He was promoted to President of the Florida Division in 2011; and to his current role in 2014. Jay has 30 years of beverage experience including time with Miller Brewing Company and others. Jay began his career retail store management in a major grocery chain.

Peter Marer – President, J.J. Taylor Distributing of Florida

Pete Marer joined J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida in 2001 as Vice President of Sales for Tampa. In 2012, he was promoted to Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing; and to President in 2014. Pete began his career in retail management and served in the U.S Army. He has 22 years of experience in the beer industry.

Florida Leadership

Frank Dunninger – Vice President of Sales - Tampa
Frank Dunninger, a graduate of York College, joined J.J. Taylor Distributing of Florida, Inc. in 2009 as Vice President of Sales for our Fort Myers Division. He was subsequently promoted to his current role as Vice President of Sales for Tampa. Frank has almost 30 years of experience in the beverage industry starting with the E&J Gallo Winery and previously worked for Crown Imports as the Regional Sales Director.

Chris Dayock – Vice President of Chain Sales
Chris Dayock joined J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc. in 2002 as a Chain Account Manager. Chris was promoted to the Director of Chain Sales and further promoted to his current position as Vice President of Chain Sales. Before joining J.J. Taylor, Chris had over 20 years of management experience working as a Store Manager at Publix Supermarkets. Chris attended St. Petersburg College.

Chad McLaughlin – Vice President of Marketing
Chad McLaughlin, a graduate from Eastern Illinois University, joined J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc. in 2000 as the Director of Marketing. He was promoted to his current position in 2008 as the Vice President of Marketing working with all three Florida Sales Centers. Before joining J.J. Taylor, Chad worked for Miller Brewing Company as the Marketing Manager for the state of Florida.

John Hudson – Senior Director of Sales and Operations – Treasure Coast
John Hudson joined J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc. in 2008. He was promoted to the Director of Sales for Treasure Coast in 2011 and in 2018 as Senior Director of Sales and Operations. John has over 30 years of experience in beer distribution industry, previously working as a Driver, Salesman, Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager. He attended the University of South Florida.

Frank Caputo – Senior Director of Operations – Fort Myers
Frank Caputo joined J.J. Taylor in 2004 offering over 25 years of experience in retail, sales and warehouse management. Frank earned his Associates Degree in Business Management with Specialization in Accounting from South Florida State College.

Michael Hampton – Senior Director of Operations - Tampa
Michael Hampton started at J.J. Taylor in 2001 as a Delivery Driver. Over the past almost 20 years, he has worked his way up gaining experience in both sales and operation as well as logistics in Tampa and Fort Myers. His well-rounded experience allows him to provide a customer focus while maintaining operating efficiencies.

Suzanne Borgia –Director of Human Resources – Tampa
Suzanne Borgia joined the HR team at J.J. Taylor in 2005 bringing several years of retail management and customer service experience. While at J.J. Taylor she earned her SPHR and SHRM- CP certifications. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science from Florida State University.
